Maritzburg United is a South African football club based in the city of Pietermaritzburg. They play in the National First Division.

History

The club was formed in 1981 and initially played in the Federation Professional League.

Maritzburg United FC er en profesjonell fotballklubb basert i Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, Sør-Afrika. Laget spiller i den sør-afrikanske Premier Division, og deres hjemmebane er Harry Gwala Stadium.

Maritzburg United FC ble grunnlagt i 1995 som Maritzburg City FC og ble offisielt stiftet i 2005. De ble tatt opp i den nasjonale første divisjonen i 2006 og vant opprykk til Premier Division i 2007–08-sesongen.
