Cumbernauld Colts Football Club is a football team from Cumbernauld, Scotland which was formed in 1969.

The senior team competed in the Caledonian Amateur Football League with the club eventually entering the Lowland Football League in 2015.

History

Colts were formed in 1969, and had success as a youth football club in the 70s and 80s, helping develop young footballers such as future Scotland internationals Derek Whyte, Jackie McNamara and Dougie Bell.

The club had a period of decline in the '90s, due to several of its teams disbanding. It was re-branded in 1999, and built its way back up.

In 2015, the club was awarded full membership of the Scottish FA and was elected to the SLFL.

Cumbernauld Colts er et fotballag fra byen Cumbernauld i Skottland. Laget ble stiftet i 1964, og spiller i Scottish League Two, som er divisjon tre i skotsk fotball. Hjemmebanen til klubben er Broadwood Stadium, som har en kapasitet på 8.036 tilskuere.

Cumbernauld Colts har vunnet Scottish League Two tre ganger, i 1984-85, 1987-88 og 1990-91. De har også vunnet Scottish Challenge Cup fire ganger, i 1991-92, 1997-98, 2017-18 og 2018-19.

Lagets mest kjente spillere inkluderer John Hartson, som fortsatte å spille for Celtic og Arsenal, og Colin Hendry, som spilte for Blackburn Rovers og Rangers.

Cumbernauld Colts er kjent for sitt gode ungdomsakademi, som har produsert mange talentfulle spillere. Laget har et sterkt lokalsamfunn, og har en stor tilhengerskare.
